Seddon Paints a Greener Future
J & S Seddon has been shortlisted for a prestigious award in recognition of its commitment to the environment and the communities it works with.
The company has been named a finalist in the Investors in Excellence Midlands Awards scheme.
J & S Seddon (Painting) Ltd has been shortlisted in the Sustainability category and will be in the spotlight at a glittering awards ceremony at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham, on 29 January.
The Investors in Excellence standard is a nationally-recognised framework for co-ordinating a business’s improvement activity.
It is designed to guide organisations to new heights of performance and help it meet the expectations of customers and stakeholders.
J & S Seddon has been recognised for a range of new initiatives designed to improve its carbon footprint and help communities across the Midlands region.
These include a major environmental drive at all Seddon sites, which has achieved recycling levels of 84 – 88 per cent of waste material created – and the introduction of video conferencing across the national contractor’s network of regional offices to cut down on travel.
Stuart Seddon, of J & S Seddon, said: “We are delighted that this hard work has been recognised by Investors in Excellence.
The standard complements and adds value to our current programmes such as Investors in People, and the quality and environmental standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which we already hold.”
The awards evening includes a guest appearance by James Caan of BBC TV’s Dragons’ Den and will be attended by around 1,300 business leaders.
