A project to preserve and protect one of Southampton's landmark buildings has secured an industry award.

A team of ten decorators worked on the £300,000 contract, to apply hard-wearing, specialist weatherproof materials in an appropriate sea green at Southampton Oceanography Centre.

Now their work has been placed among the best in the UK after the company received a commendation award at the annual Painting and Decorating Association's Premier Trophy Awards.

The company received the award for its attention to good finishes, high access difficulties and flexible approach.
